Tottenham – Liverpool
A great derby is about to start in two hours at White Heart Lane in London. Both sides are heading into the game with only one thought – to get all the points.Tottenham had a nightmare start, but the win over Wolves away from home gave some lift in the spirits. Adebayor and Parker made immediate impact after they joined the Spurs. Also there is a chance that Ladley King will be able to start, but a late fitness test will reveal it all. However Harry is hoping of a positive news over his captain. Pienaar and Huddlestone will join King for a late fitness test. Dawson and Sandro will be missing once more – both will absent for quite some time. On the positive side Lennon, Vaart and Gallas could all return today after missing the previous games for home side.
Liverpool are sweating over the fitness test of Steven Gerrard and there is uncertainty whether he’ll be included in the starting eleven or will be listed as a sub. Glen Johnson and Aurelio are both sidelined. Dalglish has no additional injury concerns, so he’ll list almost an optimal starting eleven against Tottenham. Liverpool will be hoping of a good result against Spurs as they lost the last three visits at White Heart Lane – 2:1, 2:1, 4:2.
Both sides are aiming in the top 4 spots this season and although the season has just begun they understand that every point is important so a draw won’t suit them. Tottenham poor defensive display in the first two games was really a worry for their manager, but team managed to keep a clean sheet against Wolves and PAOK and if the problems with Modric are in the past, Tottenham could be very dangerous today. The squad has great depth, especially in the midfield as there are more than enough quality and experienced players. However the defense is not looking strong enough to stop Suarez and Downing which pace in fantastic. I expect that both teams will manage to find the net today, so my main pick is Both teams to score. Also you can try Suarez to score anytime as a cover bet. He’s great forward and against a shaky defense like Tottenham’s at the present, he’ll get his chances. Liverpool must improve their performance aay from home in order to have a good chance of finishing in the top 4. Tottenham enjoys a great record against L’pool at home, and if Lennon and Bale manage to produce their magic, Spurs have the chance to add another prestigious win over visitors. As the win is so important today, we’ll see an open game with plenty of chances. I also fancy and over looking at both sides attacking players.
Tottenham: Friedel, Walker, King, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Parker, Modric, Bale, Defoe, Adebayor.
Liverpool: Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Agger, Enrique, Lucas, Adam, Henderson, Downing, Suarez, Kuyt.
Pick: Both sides to score
